Abstract

Because of the complex anatomic relationship and difficult treatment of skull base tumors, a multidisciplinary diagnosis and treatment mode (neurosurgery, otorhinolaryngology, head and neck surgery, oral and maxillofacial surgery, ophthalmology, plastic surgery, etc.) are needed to achieve the purpose of effectively removing tumors, improving function of the nerve and the quality of life. Skull base oncology is regarded as a challenging major in neurosurgery. In order to promote the development of skull base tumor surgery in China, this paper reviews the current situation and existing problems, and looks forward to the future development direction.DOI:10.3969/j.issn.1672⁃6731.2020.03.002
